Patch Notes - 10/21/25

Patch Notes - 10/21/25

Hi all, some feedback trickled in and I’ve been continuing to make improvements in clarity, formatting and layout.

  • Added discovery profiles for all existing creatures. Players can now discover the set properties of major creatures of the forest.
  • Added the rule “Efficiency.” This is the generalized concept of being able to spend fuel for an increased bonus. Efficiency allows characters to spend 1 fuel and alter their attribute roll by 2.
  • Removed some minor rules and abilities that aren’t properly implemented yet.
  • Ensured all profession starting equipment is codified in the equipment list.
  • Did a pass on equipment ensuring that each piece of equipment has applicable game rules, rather than descriptions of benefits.

What’s Next?

I’m still looking for playtesters. If you would like to playtest, please fill out the following form [Here]. Join the great crucible of playtesting today!

Right now, the focus is on tightening the draft so that it all coheres nicely.

On expanding the draft, I’m also considering upping the number of special properties that characters can discover from about a dozen to 100, so there is a lot more variety in what makes plants and animals of the forest unique.

Additionally, I had a great discussion about factions which really clarified the role that “Grand Threats” will play in the Endless Green. I’m planning on about 5 Grand Threats that can be used as the main antagonistic factions for longer campaign play. Rather than writing a narrative-based series of adventures, I plan to create an “Escalation Toolbox” that will give keepers tools to raise the stakes. For example, I can imagine a table of “Escalations” that each Grand Threat can go through if they are threatened by the player characters’ actions or by other factions as a result of the character’s actions.

Outside of the game, I’m looking to purchase some layout software and get started making the manuscript look better. My current choice is between what appears to be the industry standard of InDesign and Affinity publisher. Affinity just recently made their software unavailable until 10/30 pending some large change. If they continue to offer a one-time purchase, that is likely to be my go to. If they start a subscription based model, I don’t see much reason to not get InDesign

Thanks for reading and see you on the canopy!
